James Blake - Take a Fall For Me (feat. RZA)
itunes & official siteJames Blake’s part of this track was revealed during his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, and has been refixed with a few bars from Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA. He posted it to his Tumblr this morning, and I’m sure glad he did. This song is a good example of the continual beat deconstruction narrative pushed by act like Shabazz Palaces, Why?, and others. I like hearing RZA is hip to it, even if the song’s a tad awkward at times.
Don’t be fooled by his falsetto, and impish demeanour of England’s Blake, either. The guy is a real capable producer, and with word that he might be working with Kendrick Lamar, expect even more unexpected risks taken on the boards.
Overgrown drops next Tuesday, but it leaked this morning.
