ICMP Issue 2 // Interest Check

Any of you cats down for another go round on the Internet Collective Magazine Project? Issue 1 as awesome; really fun to put together and go through all the great content that you guys contributed. Let do another.

This time around it’ll definitely be a lot cheaper ($35+ shipped for a magazine from Blurb was insanely high and I knew that), so this time I’ll probably try and bind it by hand our go through some other binding routes. Granted, it wont’t look as sick as the Blurb ones, but it should still be super nice- not going to skimp on printing/stationery. Blurb will be a last resort in the case that self-binding doesn’t work out the way I want it to. 

Regardless, it’ll be up online for viewing as well. 

Again, writing, photography, art, design work, and anything else that can be printed is welcome!

Just a heads up regarding the I C M P:

I realize the mag costs a grip, can’t really change that though. I’m not getting any money from it.

For that reason though, I’ll be putting up the entire first issue of the magazine (which you can should purchase here) up for free preview this weekend. That’s 09/16 - 09/18. I feel that those of y’all that contributed deserve to have your (super cool) work seen by more people than the few that bought a copy. See you at 12:01am on Friday.

Couple things I’m currently looking from anyone willing to share:

• There will be a series titled “Images from my cellphone”. Send in your mobile shots! Don’t care if they duck, as long it’s not blurry darkness it’s fine. Even blurry darkness is fine. They’re gonna be on a few pages alongside a whole heap of other people’s images (picture a page with 50 images all adjacent with no spacing).
• There’ll probably be another series called “REBLOG”. It’ll consist of your favorite tumblr-found images. Send me a link to your 4/5 favorite tumblr-found images and they’ll probably get thrown in the mag.

Got a fair amount of interest in this and sent out messages to anyone that said they were up to contribute, but it looks like 50% of the messages didn’t go through.

Trying to run a little internet collective magazine, who’s up to join?

Open invitation to anyone that I follow, and some that I don’t.

Edit: Some more vague details for y’all:
Fairly regional, multi-topic, non-thematic mag. We’re all on tumblr, we (mostly) all know what’s dope and what’s not, we all know how to be artsy as fuck if need be.

You can write about whatever: contemporary events, that cool shop that just opened up in your neighborhood, album reviews, people you’ve met and experiences you’ve been through, whatever. Nothing cheesy, no political dissertations, no wack shit. That’s the best I can sum it up. 

You can also just submit your photography or design work, and ideally expose your art to a larger (though still probably tumblrized) audience as all the members of the mag will promote this to their friends (hopefully). Might include an album mix of your music if there’s enough of it and a will to do it.

Right now, unless all of y’all are willing to donate money for production or want to buy a copy, it’ll remain a downloadable magazine, but maybe if it picks up later on I can run a small number of prints for those interested in purchasing. Might look through other methods of production like blurb or lulu too (thanks -nevercontent).

I’ll probably wind up giving people topics to write on if they’re up for it, unless you have your own to write about which is cool too.
